From Humble Beginnings to a Must-Attend Industry Event: The Story of Gosigerfest

Gosigerfest returns to Dayton, Ohio on September 17–18, 2025, bringing together the best in automation, machining, and manufacturing solutions. But before we dive into what’s in store this year, it’s worth taking a moment to reflect on how this unique event began—and why it continues to matter.

Gosigerfest was founded in 2005 by George Trissler, then President of the Dayton Sales Division, alongside Pete Haley. George—fondly remembered as the “Godfather of Gosigerfest”—had a clear vision: to create a local event where customers could engage directly with Gosiger’s applications, service, and sales teams—while experiencing firsthand the full range of capabilities we bring to the table.

From day one, Gosigerfest was designed to be a bi-annual event, intentionally scheduled on the off years of IMTS to give manufacturers another chance to explore the latest technology and build valuable industry connections. That first year, around 150 customers and 20 suppliers joined us. Fast forward to 2023, and Gosigerfest welcomed over 1,100 customers and 103 suppliers to our Dayton campus.

While plenty of highlights have emerged over the years (yes, we’re looking at you, Schmidt’s Food Truck—first introduced in 2011), the heart of Gosigerfest has always been about bringing people together. It’s a chance for our customers to talk directly with our team and with leading suppliers in a relaxed, open setting. That face-to-face connection builds trust, strengthens relationships, and drives success—for our customers, our partners, and for Gosiger.
